SALARIES GO THROUGH THE ROOF

ccording to the 7th annual Asia- Pacific Salary Increase Survey conducted by Hewitt Associates, India has reported the highest average salary increase in Asia in 2006 – at 13.8%, as compared to 14.1% last year. The survey was conducted across 11 markets: India, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. For the India chapter, information was collected from 169 organisations. None of the companies who took part in the survey, reported a salary freeze in 2006; it gets better, none expect a salary freeze for 2007.
