e’ mountains being razored down to ground zero and in some cases the miners had dug well beyond 150 feet! Subrotto Dutta, activist, explained to us, “More than 50% of the mining is illegal, this means huge resources are being lost and government doesn’t even get a pie of it, besides the environment gets damaged!” He further added, “We have obsolete technology & the compliance level is very low, inevitably leading to environmental destruction.”
